Triennale of Milano

Copper, interpreted in all its multiple forms and applications, is the main theme of Copper Crossings. Copper Shapes in Contemporary Art, Design, Technology and Architecture presented at the Triennale of Milano.
The concept of the exhibition was created by Elena Tettamanti and is coproduced with Eight Art Project, with the co-curatorship of Antonella Soldaini, scientific support was given by Giampiero Bosoni, Ico Migliore, Francesca Olivini and Istituto Italiano del Rame/ the Italian Copper Institute together with a high profile scientific committee consisting in Giampiero Bosoni, Maurizio Decina, Fiorenzo Galli, Ico Migliore and Vicente Todolí.
Copper Crossings is a journey through works of art, design and architecture, applications in science and technology together with photos and videos where copper is the leit motiv. Different names find in this material a common ground to work according to their personal experiences exploiting the most cutting-edge way the formal, structural and plastic qualities of copper.
This is the first exhibition looking at copper from a different viewpoint thanks to an interdisciplinary approach with more than 250 pieces representative of sectors of the exhibition through of a series of works of art, design objects, photographs and videos.
All the pieces in the show are on loan from major museums, galleries and private collections in Italy and Europe, a statement highlighting the thorough research work which constitutes the essence of Copper Crossings.
Some works of art on display have been created specifically for this exhibition.
In 8 weeks COPPER CROSSINGS has been visited by 12.000 people. Furthermore, a relevant number of schools participated to the students’ programmes run by Ad Artem.
